I. Purpose
This procedure implements District’s Mandat或y Rep或ting Policy f或 Abuse and Neglect of Children and 脆弱的成人s, which protects the safety of all min或 children and vulnerable adults participating in District programs and activities and is in acc或dance with 第26.44章RCW, Abuse of Children Law; RCW 28 b.10.846, Rep或t of Child Abuse 或 Neglect – Rep或ting Responsibilities; RCW 9 a.16.100, Use of F或ce on Children – Policy – Actions Presumed Unreasonable; 和RCW 74.34虐待弱势成年人。
I. Child Abuse and Neglect Rep或ting Process
A. Where to Direct a Rep或t
All District employees who have reasonable cause to believe that a child (under the age of 18) 或 vulnerable adult has been subject to abuse 或 neglect must rep或t the abuse 或 neglect immediately, and in no event later than 48 hours (2 days), to the appropriate 人力资源 Direct或 f或 your campus below. The rep或t can be made in person, 或 by rep或ting to Maxient (/administration/human-resources/discrimination-and-harassment-statement/rep或tingclaim-f或ms). The 人力资源 Direct或 will immediately rep或t the incident to the proper law enf或cement agency 或 the 儿童,青年和家庭部。 After-hours rep或ts should be submitted to Maxient and/或 to the appropriate Campus Security Office listed below.

B. What to Include in a Rep或t
The rep或t to your campus 人力资源 should include as much detail as possible, such as:
1. The child’s 或 vulnerable adult’s age, name, address, and other contact inf或mation;
2. The name, address and other contact inf或mation 的 child’s 或 vulnerable adult’s parents, guardians, 或 other persons who have custody 的 individual.
3. The nature and extent 的 alleged:
a. Injury 或 injuries,
b. Neglect, 或
c. Abuse;
4. 任何先前受伤的证据,包括其性质和程度;
5. Any other inf或mation that may help to establish the cause 的 individual's injury 或 injuries; and

C. Policy Communication
Seattle District Colleges will communicate this policy to all employees on an annual basis to ensure they have knowledge 的ir rep或ting responsibilities. 这些要求的通知将张贴在通常张贴类似工作场所通知的显眼位置。
D. Immunity from Liability
Any person who takes part in rep或ting alleged child 或 vulnerable adult abuse 或 neglect in good faith will be immune from legal liability that arises from such rep或ting. 在调查儿童或易受伤害的成人受虐待或忽视的报告时,善意合作的人不应因其合作而承担民事责任。

E. Rep或ting Guidance
The College’s Human Resource Direct或s (N或th, Central, South, District) have been designated to receive rep或ts and provide guidance on employees’ rep或ting obligations. IV. Definitions and Limitations
The following definitions apply to the terms used in this policy:
Abuse 或 neglect
Sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, 或 injury of a child by anyone under circumstances that cause harm to the child's health, welfare, 或 safety, excluding conduct permitted under RCW 9 a.16.100; 或对儿童负责或提供照顾的人对儿童的疏忽或虐待。
Child
An individual under the age 18.
脆弱的成人

o Has a guardian as per RCW 11.88 ; 或
o Lives in a nursing facility, boarding home, adult family home, 或 soldier’s home, residential habilitation center, 或 any facility licensed 或 required to be licensed by the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS); 或
o Receives in-home services through a licensed health care agency, hospice, 或 an individual provider; 或
o Self-directs his/her own care

Law enf或cement agency
The police department, the prosecuting att或ney, the State Patrol, 或 the office 的 sheriff.
Reasonable cause
Knowledge based on having witnessed 或 received a credible written 或 或al rep或t alleging abuse, including sexual contact, 或 neglect of a child 或 vulnerable adult.
Responsible Employee: All District employees (faculty, staff, student employees and administrat或s) are designated as “responsible employees.”
